I saw a certain amount of beauty and symmetry in hand-made bicycles frames, and simply decided that making them was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.
In 1980 I was 27 years old. And in the trade for eight years. It was during this period that I finally, as in once and for all, left my past and became comfortable with my present.
I’ll never know the person I might have been had I gone on Goddard College. With the years ahead of me being far fewer than the ones already lived, I sometimes wonder about this.
